Far From the Tree
...is a game by Peter Molydeux and R. Hunter Gough

...with music stolen from Kenji Eno, and a terrifying scream by Tim Rogers

...based on the following profound concepts:

You wake up one day in a fortress, your family are little plants. You must escape with
all plants, watering them and keeping in sunlight etc

What if you were half man half tree? You can only fight when in soil and constantly grow
throughout the game.

What if you could plant seeds that grow into cover systems?

What if a cover system had raw emotion? i.e having to use dead people that you loved as
a means of cover?

==CONTROLS==

Move yourself using the WASD keys, or the arrow keys, or a joystick if you have one.

Rotate the camera with the "<" and ">" keys. These keys were chosen purposefully; they
are the best possible keys for rotating cameras. If a famous architect build a house with
no door, you wouldn't criticize HIM, would you?

==GAMEPLAY==

Avoid the gaze of the eyes. If an eye sees you, your apple will die, but do not despair.
A new apple will be born, and you can hide from the eyes behind the withered corpses of
your departed siblings. How does that make you feel?

Likewise, avoid the lava. Or don't.

If you find a patch of fertile soil, you can plant yourself there to grow a new tree and
continue the cycle of life. Breathtaking, isn't it? The next time your apple is killed,
the next apple will be born in this new tree.

You grow very gradually, but stop growing after a time. Did you notice? By "you" I of
course mean the apple you are controlling in this game, but I suppose the same applies to
"you" the player as well, doesn't it? Think about this.

You will know when you have won.
